Tenerife Beach Outfit

beach outfit

Ahhhhh how come that it is already September? It feels like there was no summer in Britain at all! Luckily I caught some much-needed sunshine during my summer holiday in Tenerife, where I pretty much lived in one outfit: my comfy jeans shorts from Primark and some swimwear. Though I packed my suitcase with cute floral dresses, the combination of bikini/swimsuit and shorts was the most appropriate in 37-degree heat.

Believe it or not, but my wardrobe features very little swimwear. After what has seemed to be a decade or so, tackling to update my swimwear wardrobe was of high priority on my fashion list and I accomplished this very difficult task (do you know how hard it is to find decent swimwear with the current weird fashion styles at the moment?!?) thanks to a collaboration with Sammydress.

My Navy-Blue Swimsuit From SammyDress

I was extremely delighted to be working with Sammydress again, who kindly sorted me out last year with a blue flare cut out skater dress for my red carpet look at Cosmo's FashFest. As I was pleased with the collaboration from last year and given the fact, that they came just at the right time again to help me out with my swimwear dilemma, I agreed to feature them once more for a summer-inspired look.

Sammydress is one of those big retailers online that sell accessories, clothes and shoes freshly shipped from China and where you can spend literally days online going through their collection. With this in mind, you need to be extremely careful with the sizing and may have to take on a gamble - but the gambling aspect is less painful as assumed because Sammydress' prices are super affordable (we talk $5 for a cute instagrammable cat watch or $6 for a felt fedora).

For a while, I've been after a deep plunge swimsuit and saw a perfect one via Octer, but by the time I decided for it, it was gone. The problem I have with deep plunge swimsuits is, that they can look super tacky and revealing, so I was looking for a tasteful piece that would look sexy yet classy with a lace-up detail to do the job.

After carefully scanning Sammydress' website, I found this blue stunner which is made from a super soft fabric. It's not the typical Lycra fabric that swimsuits are made of, so I actually only used it for sunbathing and not for swimming in the sea.

With the size, I had to take a gamble. I'm a solid UK10 but for this one, I opted for a size L just in case, as Chinese sizing tends to be very petite and delicate. The swimsuit is elastic and sits comfortably.

The lightweight material made me sometimes forget that I was actually wearing a swimsuit. It's very pleasant to wear and I'm absolutely happy with my choice. Now add some snazzy wooden-framed RayBans and a priceless natural summer tan and you'll get that to-die-for beach look.

Here's What I'm Wearing:

Tan: The Tenerife Sun (priceless)
Wooden-framed Clubmaster Sunglasses: Ray-Ban (SS15, £270)
Shorts: Primark (SS12, £5)
Deep Plunge Lace Up Swimsuit: Sammydress* (SS16, $10)

I'm very happy with my swimsuit from Sammydress. A slight warning though: the website is stuffed with items, which can be a bit overwhelming and it definitely takes some stamina to find things. The shipping is super fast (my items arrived within less than a week), however, they charge $11.95 which is a bit of a pain, so keep this in mind when you decide to check Sammydress out.

A Fashion Collaboration With My Friend Nikki

As I was only after a swimsuit and had more than half of my budget left, I decided to reach out to my lovely blogging friend from LoveLaughsLipstick. I'm a huge fan of her Expectations vs Reality series and I offered her to spend the rest of my budget. Blogging has been such a great experience for me and I wanted to support my friend with her series so I'm super thrilled to announce, that we collaborated for her Expectation vs Reality #12 together!

Thanks for reading,

Till next time,
