About

Hi there,

My name is Carolin and I'm a fashion loving linguist living in London. I'm very thrilled you found your way to my fashion, film and lifestyle blog.

In the day, I work full time for a digital marketing agency in Central London and when I'm not stressing over Excel spreadsheets, analyse data or organise press events, I love to write about my latest ootds, travels or review films.

About StyleLingua

Style Lingua was born in April 2015 out of my first blog Lunch Break Adventures (Feb 2014). It was meant to be a project to improve my casual writing style in English, with the idea to provide easy to read posts that people could read in their lunch breaks. Soon I found like-minded fashion interested ladies online and my blog became so much more than just a hobby.

In April 2015, I felt that I had outgrown Lunch Break Adventures and not everyone understood the purpose and intentions of my blog. I'm a very ambitious person and always strive for perfection and growth so re-branding as Style Lingua was the way to go forward. With Style Lingua I'd like to combine my love for fashion (Style) and linguistics (Lingua) and take on a new direction. My blog is a private fashion and lifestyle blog which covers mainly fashion (as in fashion exhibitions, outfits, daily styles and looks), my travels and London lifestyle (mostly events, exhibition, ice cream).

About Me

Writing is my absolute passion and as a true free spirit and art lover, I'm full of imagination and inspiration, that's why I hardly run out of ideas for this blog (I do lack motivation now and again, I assume it's the Gemini in me). When I'm not blogging you'll either find me at the cinema (I have a serious movie addiction!) or at an ice-rink (training, as I love figure ice-skating).

Loves: pizza, ice cream, Australia, London, art, culture, the English language, contemporary YA literature, hanging out with my friends, films and cinema, ice-skating, blogging, reading, travelling, Costa, Galaxy chocolate, pancakes, The Big Bang Theory, singing and driving, Twitter, baking, crisps, cheddar cheese, summer and going to the beach, German Roast, adventures, theatre/plays/musicals, dogs, koalas, horses, the colour orange, freedom and independence, random programmes on C4, Eurovision, the smell of anti-bac, fashion magazines, handbags

Hates: ignorance, hierarchical mindsets, xenophobia, when plans don't work out (I'm very impatient), inefficiency, British heating systems and Sunday Roasts, Broccoli, unpunctuality, rain and dreary weather, pampering and belittlement, a cold bathroom in the morning, especially a cold toilet seat in the morning, small-minded attitudes, people who are complicated and difficult, lipstick, my Algophobia, CT (child-talk), jaywalkers, water residue on surfaces *shrugs*

Please Note

I don't tolerate discrimination, xenophobia or cyber mobbing towards me. If you think that my blog is one of these blogs that clutters up the internet with unnecessary girly stuff, then yeah you're right. I write about things I care about and they are obviously not world changing or providing solutions to world hunger. My blog is my hobby, it relaxes me to write and I've developed useful skills from it. It is first and foremost my own little writing and research project, as I'm also interested in how to engage an audience through various text forms. If you can't respect my work then please leave my blog.
I'm an independent blogger/writer which means all of my posts are written and published by myself. The posts contain my personal views and opinion. I try to link to the original source in the (rare) case that I use an image which isn't mine. I started with a Nexus 4 smartphone camera and switched to a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-HX50 in July 2014. Since March 2015, all of my pictures have been shot with a DSLR Nikon D5300 and Olympus Pen (June 2016).

I'm a linguist/writer first and foremost and not a professional photographer. I can assure you though, that I do my absolute best to take clear and amazing pictures. Now and again I enjoy the luxury of having a photographer for my ootds but that's not always possible. To keep my pictures authentic and real, I edit them as little as possible.

Hope you'll enjoy your stay at my blog and we'll speak soon!

Carolin
