During the Olympics in 2012, Magnum had a pop-up store for the very first time in London. Located in Stratford Westfield Shopping center, Londoners could design their own Magnum and indulge into freshly dipped, customised ice cream - it was heaven! It was an unusual and truly unique experience. Fast forward 2016 and the Magnum store has become an integral part of London summertime.
Over the years, the brand always had a fun and exciting promotion going along to celebrate the return of the pop-up store in Central. Last year, Magnum had a promotion alongside their pleasure store in Covent Garden - a beautiful designed ice cream necklace by Holly Fulton which allowed the wearer to "unlock" the store and pretty much have a freshly dipped ice cream every day (the full story is covered in my Life Lately in London post). Having been one of the few lucky ones to get their hands on a Holly Fulton for Magnum necklace, which I won during an Instagram competition, my hopes for an equally amazing promotion to accompany this year's pleasure store in South Molton Street were high.
The brand did not disappoint and hosted three very exclusive Magnum Members Club events throughout late August and early September. Those events were by invite only which could only be won on Twitter. I once again was lucky to be part of a Magnum promotion and won two invites for me and my friend Karen (beauty blogger from StyleSunrise). On Wednesday night, we made our way over to the store for a chilled out and classy evening at Magnum.
We were greeted by the lovely staff of the Magnum Pleasure Store, which handed us a chart of available ice cream toppings and a cocktail menu by London cocktail bar Nightjar. We sat down at one of their ice cream stick shaped tables and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere. By day, the store gets usually really busy (and messy) as hundreds of people come to the store to enjoy a customised Magnum. This evening though, the store was entirely reserved for the event and it felt very exclusive and special.
Karen and I enjoyed prosecco/elder flower sparkling water and unlimited cocktails all night which were made by Nightjar, a trendy London bar. The barman kindly made me my favourite, "The Tiger" (last picture), as a non-alcoholic version which tasted deliciously fresh of fruit with a smooth finish of Magnum chocolate. So, so good!
After a few drinks and a good catch up with Karen, the highlight of the evening was due. We were allowed to step behind the famous Magnum bar and dip our very own ice cream - a dream literally came true! Look at all these amazing toppings which ranged from golden flakes to chili, sea salt, marbled chocolate curls, goji berries, almonds, chocolate balls, mint to pistachio, sweet honeycomb and coconut flakes. The combinations were endless!
Karen went first and decided on a white chocolate Magnum topped with pistachios, milk chocolate balls and coconut flakes, a white chocolate drizzle and button. It was so much fun and Karen did a really good job. She looks like an ice cream pro, don't you think?
Towards the end of the evening, it was my turn and I couldn't have been more excited. Give me unlimited power over the Magnum toppings bar and I will smile like a star-strucked teenager for the rest of my life. IT WAS INSANE. I opted for some marbled chocolate curls, golden flakes, dark chocolate scrap and vanilla coated almonds for my white chocolate Magnum. The dipping was a lot of fun and I think I did a good job - had a lot of visual practice I guess from all my previous trips to the store hahaha.
The evening was super chillaxed and perfect to unwind after a long day at work. The staff at Magnum were lovely and gifted us a little goody bag on the way back home. That was such a lovely gesture and again highlighted the evening as a special treat.
The last Magnum Members Club event will be held tonight and the store closes this Sunday for another season.
Thank you so much for checking out today's post. Which flavour combinations would you have chosen? Have you visited the Magnum Store this summer? Let me know in the comment section, I read and appreciate every comment.
Take care and till next time,
